The McDonald’s High School All American Basketball Games are a showcase of the top boys and girls senior high school basketball players in the nation. The doubleheader is annually played in different host cities, drawing capacity crowds.

The 2006 McDonald’s All American Games will be played on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Cox Arena on the campus of San Diego State University. The games will be nationally televised on ESPN.

In addition to the games, the McDonald’s All Americans will participate in a separate Jam Fest, featuring the ESPN nationally televised slam dunk, three-point and team ball contests. The Powerade Jam Fest takes place at Peterson Gym on Monday, March 27th. On Tuesday, March 28, is an All American Awards Banquet to honor the players with the presentation of their All American rings.

A selection committee of prominent high school coaches, prep scouts and media from across the country choose the nation's top graduating high school boy and girl basketball players from a pool of approximately 2,500 seniors. Morgan Wootten, retired DeMatha High School (Hyattsville, MD) coach, and the winningest high school basketball coach of all-time, serves as chairman of the McDonald's All American Selection Committee and legendary former UCLA coach, John Wooden, chairman of the McDonald's All American Game, serves as an advisor to the committee.

The 2006 games mark the 29th anniversary of the boys game and the fifth annual girls game. For more information please visit the official website.
