The San Diego International Sports Council and the United States Olympic Committee are pleased to announce the creation of the 2005 International Sports Invitational featuring the sports of softball, basketball and volleyball. The competition will take place in San Diego and Chula Vista, CA June 7-12, 2005 and will feature 252 athletes from seven countries including Australia, Canada, China, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia and the United States
USA Basketball men's and women's teams will compete at Peterson Gym and Cox Arena on the campus of San Diego State University. The Men's basketball competition will feature 33 of the nation's top high school players, as well as young national squads from Canada, China, New Zealand and Russia. On the women's side, the 2005 USA U19 World Championship Team (players 19 years old or younger) will compete against Australian, Chinese and Russian U19 national teams.
The U.S. Women's Softball Team will be back together for the first time since their unprecedented run to gold in Athens last summer and will compete on the familiar grounds of the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. The U.S. women will compete against China, Canada and Australia in a four-nation tournament.
Men's indoor volleyball will take place at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on the University of San Diego campus and will feature the U.S. men's national team as well as teams from China, Australia and the Netherlands.

Tickets for all events are $8 per day and the venue box offices will sell tickets for their own venue. Tickets for Softball can be purchased at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista or at the Cox Arena box office at San Diego State University.
