4/11/05 - Joe, Lisa and Lauren will represent the SDISC in the upcoming NASC Sports Event Symposium in Portland from April 19-21.

4/7/05 - The San Diego Padres have their home opener tonight at 7:05 PM @ PetCo Park against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Let's go "Play Downtown."

The SDISC would like to congratulate Dan Shea for being honored by the American Ireland Fund and presented The Heritage Award.

Lastly, we'd like to thank former world champion NBA basketball player, Steve Kerr, for being our March guest speaker at our board meeting.

3/29/05 - March Madness is in full bloom and the games this past weekend were intense, close and exciting. Three out of the four weekend games going into overtime. The Final Four should prove to be interesting indeed.

The San Diego Padres Opening Day (April 4th @ Colorado Rockies) is fast approaching and what better way to lead off the season by going to the Padres First Pitch Luncheon, April 1st at the Sheraton Harbor Island. Lets show our Padres support for their drive to the World Series.

On April 2 - 3, the San Diego Crew Classic brings the elite rowing teams from across the country to Mission Bay. Be sure to check out the exciting action this weekend.

3/18/05 - The San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau presented the San Diego International Sports Council with the Local Hero Award 2004 "in recognition of the outstanding group business you brought to San Diego North."

3/17/05 - We driving you crazy yet? In our continuing effort to support and foster San Diego sports organizations and events, the Sports Council website has undergone some minor changes over the past few weeks in order to become the source for San Diego sports.

Expect over the next month or two a couple more options including a more robust event calender which will not only feature SDISC events, but all sports events in San Diego. Oh, we'll also tell you what the weather is like in San Diego to remind you why this is America's Finest City.

3/8/05 - Things are starting to warm up here in San Diego and we're not just talking about the temperature. In March 2006, the McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Game will be played at Cox Arena on San Diego State University. The date for this fantastic event highlighting the future stars of the NBA and WNBA has not been set, but typically the game is scheduled the Wednesday preceding the Final Four. More information will be posted as they become available.

2/1/05 - The month of January was another exciting time in America's Finest City. The Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines showcased the world's best golfers including Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and defending champion John Daly. Tiger held off the pack and came out on top winning his first stroke-play victory since 2003 with a 4-under 68 on the final day. Hats off to The Century Club for conducting another fantastic golf event.

The San Diego Padres and the San Diego International Sports Council are proud to announce the Padres First Pitch Luncheon on April 1, 2005 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. More information on how to purchase tickets will be posted shortly.

1/3/05 - Congratulations once again on the San Diego Chargers on a fantastic football season. The Chargers ended the season with a 24-17 victory over their rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs. On January 8, the Chargers will be matched up against the New York Jets in their first home playoff game in nine years. Go Chargers!

Also in January, the California State Games start up the New Year with the California State Judo Championships over at La Costa Canyon High School on the 16th.
